I recently got scammed for over $500 worth of the cryptocurrency — Bitcoin — by this scammer from Phillippines with the sweet sounding name, “Marion Serenio.” So, this dude contacts me on one of my posts on a subreddit that enables folks to trade their bitcoins for services by anonymous redditors.

So, I made this mistake of going for the scammer — Marion Serenio — because of how smoothly he talked me into it (pretty much how scammers always talk). Now, I ask him to build a relatively complex calculator using React.js, which he says would be doable.

He asks me to send him a BIG load of money (~25%) as a ‘starting fee’ which was obliged. After a fwe days, he PROFESSIONAL PHOTOSHOPS some of his previous work and customizes it for my case (A FACT THAT I REALIZED AFTER I GOT SCAMMED) and sends me a screenshot that looks like ‘work in progress…’

He then asks me for 30% of the money which I send. And then, he goes RADIO SILENT. This scammer stopped responding to my texts as well as my PM. He replies to every other new post trying to scam gullible people on reddit, but won’t respond to my posts.

So yeah, if you ever come across a dude named Marion Serenio who claims to be a “good” (my arse) UI/UX designer, save the trouble and ignore him. Hope this experience of mine stops other from falling into the trap. Here’s some proof:
