“If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together” African Proverb

A film, filmed and directed by PATTERNITY co-founders Anna + Grace brings to life the concept and story of our CRACKLE CONNECTIONS homewares collaboration with Zambian artisans Tribal Textiles. From the crackled skin of strolling elephants, tree bark and hot earth, this short film brings together their visual and audio inspiration and documentation of the making of the collaboration – a collaged celebration and the coming together of Tribal Textiles and PATTERNITY for the very first time.

CRACKLE CONNECTIONS

Uniting a shared love of pattern, craft + community

Launching September 2018

PATTERNITY x Tribal Textiles have collaborated to create the CRACKLE CONNECTIONS collection which will launch exclusively at Selfridges as part of the Conscious Creators pop up. The collection includes throws, accessories and cushions each featuring bold patterns made using the traditional process of starch batik. PATTERNITY are a London based lifestyle brand who are passionate about the power of pattern design to elevate environmental and social causes – and pride themselves on being a ‘conscious creative organisation.’ Their collaboration with Tribal Textiles was therefore a perfect match. Tribal Textiles launched in 1991 in Zambia and has now grown to an internationally trading company made up of over 100 local artisans. A percentage of sales from the collection will go to supporting rural education programmes and local conservation initiatives.
